Learning objectives Today, stone treatment means endourology in most cases. New endoscopes, new lasers, new disposables promise better efficacy, lower morbidity and shorter hospital stays. Is this all true or are there potential drawbacks to be considered? Which protocols and treatment algorithms lead to the best treatment results? This plenary will give answers.

Learning objectives Urological infections become more and more difficult to treat, due to the fact that on the one hand antimicrobial resistance and multiresistance emerge dramatically in causative pathogens on a global level and antibiotics are increasingly restricted. On the other hand urological patients do have more and more accompanying morbidities. This session deals with the most important and recent aspects and strategies that deal with the challenges of antimicrobial resistance, from prevention and prophylaxis to treatment of life threatening infections.

Learning objectives Bertie Leigh is back exploring and probing the complications of robotic surgery through the prism of the law court. In so doing we hope to improve approaches to consent, surgical technique and training.
Scenarios 1&3 explore challenges arising from the uniqueness of robotics viz, what to do after mechanical failure and issues arising from the physical separation of surgeon and assistant. Scenario 2 explores the transition to performing highly complex robotic procedures.
The session will be entertaining and challenging. “If my case came to court, how would I look?“
Case discussion Mechanical failure of the robot during RARP: Should I have stopped? Case solution and audience questions
Case discussion Were you ready for this level of complexity? Robotic T3 RCC into the ivc Case solution and audience questions

Learning objectives After starting off this session with an update on the treatment algorithm of Peyronie’s disease and surgical aspects of genital reconstruction, the interrelationship of testicular cancer and male infertility –both arising from the testicular dysgenesis syndrome (TDS)- will be discussed. The attendee will take home a deeper insight in the molecular connection between these two diseases and the impact of one diagnosis on the management of the other. Autologous testicular tissue transplants are on the horizon and will be highlighted. MicroRNAs as biomarkers and robotic approaches of retroperitoneal masses are further topics of discussion and state-of-the art presentations will help to clarify their roles in current management.

Learning objectives After the introduction of botulinum toxin A in the armamentarium of neurogenic bladder dysfunction, other more complex treatment options have been very much ignored. However Botulinum toxin does not work in every case. Advances in sacral neuromodulation have occurred and may prove useful for neurogenic patients. Urinary diversion may be a realistic option in complex cases, and urologists need to familiarize themselves with other neurological problems in addition to MS or SCI. Parkinson’s disease is a good example of a disease with multiple urological problems urologists that should be aware of.
Debate What happens if Botox does not work in MS anymore? -

Learning objectives The thematic session on infertility in Amsterdam 2020 is all about controversies in the approach of the infertile male. The aim of the session is to gain an insight in new diagnostic developments, the treatment of varicocele in azoospermia, and to learn how to optimize your assisted reproduction techniques (ART). The session starts off with diagnostic controversies, including non-conventional semen analysis, human papilloma virus testing in infertility, and asking the question whether we test for Y chromosome microdeletions too often. A debate is held on the management of non-obstructive azoospermia, and a state of the art is given on Improving outcomes in fertilization and implantation in ART for male factor infertility.

Learning objectives HPV is a group of more than 200 related viruses, of which more than 40 are spread through direct sexual contact. Among these, several HPV types cause genital warts, and about a dozen HPV types can cause certain types of cancer—cervical, anal, oropharyngeal, penile, vulvar, and vaginal. HPV vaccines are vaccines that protect against infection with human papillomaviruses (HPV). It makes therefore sense to consider HPV vaccination for various urogential diseases. This session is about the ins and outs of HPV Vaccination with respect to efficacy, side effects etcetera. Moreover the typical Dutch situation on genital diseases will be explored.

Learning objectives Outpatient surgery is a usual task of office urologists in Europe. The procedures include as well open surgery as endoscopic interventions. Furthermore recent developments offer the opportunity of prostate treatment in an outpatient and day surgery setting. In examples, these procedures are demonstrated in this session illustrated by videos. As key conditions, the aspects of anaesthesia and sedation and the prevention and management of complications in outpatient procedures are presented. Regarding the great spectrum of complexity in outpatient surgery a debate together with the audience will discuss the question which of the procedures should be done in which institution: in the office, in uro-surgical centres or in collaboration with local hospitals. Legal aspects playing an increasing role in outpatient surgery will complement the interactive meeting which is interesting not only for office urologists but also for urologists in clinic.

We will debate options for 60° curvature in Peyronie’s disease, for which the guidelines propose several options, and hear from experts in the field what is their opinion on the most beneficial approach. The second half of the session is dedicated to gaining a deeper insight in penile implants: a 360° degree operation view as a new way of surgical education, followed by discussion of current indications for malleable implants and implants salvage in infection, as well as a view on new developments in implant research & development.

Learning objectives This session on focal therapy for intermediate-risk prostate cancer addresses the oncological outcomes with at least 3 years of followup. Various energies will be reported and discussed with the panel.
In case of focal therapy failure, salvage radical prostatectomy is a treatment option. However, in may be technically challenging, and pathology may show adverse features. The session participants will be able to make a decision when and how to advice the individual patient with intermediate risk cancer considering focal therapy and what to expect in case of salvage radical prostatectomy.
Midterm oncological results of focal therapy HIFU hemi-ablation To be confirmed

Learning objectives The aim of this session is to provide the audience a deep insight on specific topics of current clinical practice in urology. The selected themes this year are Overactive Bladder (OAB), Upper Tract Urothelial Cancer (UTUC), and non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. For each topic, the discussion will follow two pathways: on one hand a synthesis of the most recent scientific evidence will be examined, on the other hand, complex scenarios will be discussed by top-class experts. The audience will learn how to face complex clinical decision-making in case of refractory OAB, recurrent non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, und upper tract urothelial cancer based on the actual EAU-guidelines.
